Life on Mars finishes tonight. After two series of seventies madness, brown Cortinas, nonce kicking, spooky Test Card girls and every song Bowie wrote before 1974 Sam Tyler will finally discover, we hope, What? How? Why? Where? I will be sad to see him go, and in his honour I've made a random spasm-like list of all theories across both series that have been shouted at my television screen, from the curious, to the utterly ridiculous, some of them have been disproved already, some of them were never going to be the answer anyway and some of them get a little too Doctor Who for comfort. In my defence they are not all my ideas. One thing which I think probably deserved more space in any and all speculations was who exactly ran Sam down in the first place. No one seems to talk about it at all, it seems to me like the sort of thing that would be important. Knowing my feelings though it will never be mentioned again, I tend to get strung up on the miniature of things far too often. Anyway, I give you...the list.
