I'm sat here watching my neighbour desperately try and mow through grass that's about four feet tall, he's already gotten the mower stuck in the grass once and had to physically lift it out. At one point I lost sight of him among the foliage. I don't feel guilty at all for considering this free entertainment.

And I've just received Hitman on DVD rental and now I'm afraid to watch it in case it makes me want "to weep and then die"

ETA: There have been a few conversations in the past week or so about weird crushes. People you won't admit that you're quietly obsessed with. Or people you'll watch awful shows/children's television/rubbish soaps just because they're in it. I've just realised I currently have one of those....

Ok, so I fully intended to do..stuff yesterday. I had intentions, writing intentions and general real life intentions, things to do...Then I got throughly distracted by Christopher Eccleston in The Dark is Rising.
Then I got distracted by Adrian Pasdar in Near Dark
Then I got distracted by my hunt for epic high res pics of JJ hotness that will 'oh my god eat your face!' Help I've been kidnapped by giants! Alas with no luck yet...but here's some pics anyway since that seems to be the theme of the morning.
ETA: I was so distracted I almost forgot one of the distractions! Numbers is being shown again, though this time it's on FiveUS. They keep showing the previews every time I'm on Five and I of course keep getting distracted...by the maths. I of course watch for the maths...Mmmm complicated equations...

LJ is a strange empty, slightly broken thing at the moment...is everyone still reading...THE BOOK?

I'm waiting for my Dexter tape, since I am not one of Sky's special people I get it delivered to me promptly on Wednesday morning in exchange for cake and sexual favours.  Last week's tape came with random Macgyver episodes on the end of it and a box of After Eights. It was like The Phantom of the Opera, only with less opera...and no horrible facial disfigurement. Still it's nice to feel loved...or possibly bribed, I'll see how that turns out later.

In other news I have been doing lots of random DVD watching, and so I thought I should share my non-spoilery thoughts, and shallow ramblings.
Most awesome thing from the morning so far, tasty and beautiful new promo shots for Heroes...one of which is now my desktop.  Making it very hard to leave the computer... I may come back and search for more awesome things later!

Oh I almost forgot, I agree with absolutely everyone else. The AfterElton Hot 100 Men list...much prettier and more interesting than the dull straight versions. Go, flick through the pictures, make interested noises, you will marvel...marvel!

I've been catching up on my rental DVD's before the end of the monthly changeover and spent Monday night watching The Covenant. You know that one that's basically The Craft with boys. It occurred to me that I've never done a movie review/picspam and this was the perfect opportunity since this is a film with a considerable amount of hot but a cast that couldn't act their way out of a wendy house! So I compiled one to amuse myself.

The shouting, the red cloaks, that guy smashing all the arrows out of his shield, the fighting, the colours, the rhino in armour! The sheer quantity of mostly naked Spartans.

Please, please, please let this not be the best three minutes of the film.

Caught up on remake of Poseidon last night, always worried when I'm uber fond of the original but I liked it. All the watery boat smashing at the beggining was always going to be better than the original, and I suspect the cruise liner model was bigger. Still they've changed 80% of the deaths so it's not a given who dies/lives and when.

I had to tape both Robin Hood and Torchwood, so I haven't seen either yet, I'm trying not to be petulant and obnoxious about it. It doesn't help that everyone's pointing out how good they both were. Of course they could be lying just to be cruel.

Have nearly finished my hot tub fic though! I'm trying not to let it go in strange directions involving fruit. Might have it done by lunchtime, then I'll inflict it on the world.

It's brass monkeys in here! I can see my breath inside and that's wrong in so many ways. I've spilled coffee all over the keyboard and my jeans and most of my hand but on the plus side I've finished the stuff I was working on last night (which still counts even if it is utterly plotless.)

Saw odd movie trailer on tv last night called 'Pan's Labyrinth' which looks like some sort of twisted offspring of Neverwhere and Narnia. I wonder why movie children are never scared by goat faced people. I'm pretty sure I'd have to recoil in horror, of course then I'd probably have to apologise if it turned out the goat faced person could talk.

Etiquette question of the week asked by a friend whilst watching Planet Earth 'Do you think it would be considered rude if you asked to ride a centaur?'

Personally I probably wouldn't...
